Monday Morning Must-Knows: December 20,2021
As we anticipated, we saw some significant volatility last week. The question is, will this continue?
As Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell suggested at the FOMC press conference, due to inflationary pressure, the Fed may taper a bit quicker and potentially raise rates in 2022.
On the earnings front, we have a very slow week with only 92 companies reporting. A few notables include Micron and Nike. The markets will be closed on Thursday and Friday due to the Christmas holiday.
We have an important economic report on Thursday; Core PCE Price Index. Make sure you tune in.
And finally, on Wednesday, we will see the final GDP report for the year. We have seen an uptrend recently. If that continues, we expect on-going confidence in the markets. If, however, we see a move down, we may see a lack of confidence in the market which may drive the markets down. Make sure you check out last weeks Monday Morning Must-Knows, Special Inflation Edition for more.As always, if you’re in the markets, trade safely and have a solid risk management plan.
