Monday Morning Must-Knows: August 2, 2021

There are two important bank rate announcements this week that you’ll want to pay attention to as they may be harbingers of other bank rate announcements to come.

 Also, we have more than 1,500 earnings announcements this week.  We are closely watching major oil companies, in particular. With the price of oil up 20% for the quarter, earnings reported so far have been good. Will that continue to be the case?

 Will any others announce stock buyback programs? If so, there could be considerable volatility in the market, so be sure you have your trade plan and risk management rules in place!
