There will be some important housing data to keep an eye on this week,including building permits and housing starts, both of which will be releasedon Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. ET. 

However, the major one to pay attention to this week is the mortgage pricesreport on Thursday and its impact on existing home sales. On Friday, importantservices and manufacturing numbers will be released for the US, Europe, and theUK. These reports can provide a clearer picture of specific market sectors andcan be useful for traders in US equity stocks.

Last week saw a lot of financial companies reporting earnings, with many ofthem ending up in the red. There was also volatility in the market,particularly with JP Morgan.
