Michelle Volmering grew up on a cash crop and beef farm and eventually married a dairy, beef and cash crop farmer. Her life-long personal experience in farming helped her understand the worldwide effects on commodity markets such as wheat, corn, beans, live cattle and feeder cattle. The value and importance of understanding the global markets was apparent in farming and carried into trading the markets as well. Her trading knowledge has assisted the family with hedging and speculation of commodities and futures markets to assist them in protection of losses and/or increased profitability in the family farming operation. She is the mother of 5 children, a registered nurse and a successful, active trader.
Michelle became interested in “online/internet trading” during the late 90’s. At that time, many were buying, then selling, stocks for a profit during one of the longest bull runs in history. The bull run was eventually followed by the crash of 2000-2002. Prior to managing her own portfolio through the use of online trading, Michelle used full-service brokerages and was a buy and hold investor in stocks from 1987-2002. In 2002, Michelle became an active trader, primarily using the equities and options markets as trading vehicles. In 2003, she added the futures markets to her trading interests. Michelle most recently added Forex currencies to her trading experience. Trading E-Mini equity index futures and Euro Dax futures, in combination with other futures markets, is where Michelle has primarily focused her trading. In addition, she continues to manage her own IRA account using stocks and futures to provide longer term financial stability.
Michelle has experience trading futures, equities, commodities, options and currencies. She has individually trained and mentored more than 200 students. She uses her trading experience to teach students how to use broad market, fundamental and technical analyses to learn how to trade successfully in the markets. In class, Michelle explains in a clear and concise way, price support and resistance, chart pattern recognition, and the use of multiple time frames to traders of all skill levels. |
